Euromaint has been contracted to take responsibility for supplying material to Alstom for the maintenance of all 51 of SL's X10 trains. To meet Alstom's expectations, Euromaint has set up a consignment store adjoining SL's depot in Älvsjö, where maintenance of the X10 is performed. Where stocks are held of the 265 most frequently needed spare parts, such as dampers, brake blocks, valves and circuit boards. Apart from stock-keeping, the reprocessing of replacement parts, for example assemblies, valve packets and brake resistors as well as sales of consumables, for example, bushings, washers and staple strips are also included.
"Alstom is looking forward to working with Euromaint on the supply of material for the X10 commuter trains in Stockholm. A well-functioning supply of material forms an important part of our mission to deliver modern and reliable maintenance of Stockholm's commuter traffic," Per Öster, Operations Director Alstom Transport AB says.
"We are naturally delighted that we have been entrusted with the responsibility for supplying material for the 51 commuter trains. Especially considering their importance for a well-run local service. Through high quality and delivery capability, we will be part of the work to increase the availability of the commuter trains," says Henrik Ehrengren, Manager for Material Provision, Euromaint Rail.
The contract runs from January 2013 to June 2016.
Facts in brief:
Stockholm's commuter services are provided by two types of rolling stock; the older X10 and the X60 rolling stock, which entered service in 2005. There are 51 X10s and 83 X60s.
