Euromaint will continue to maintain the Arlanda Express, Sweden's most punctual train, which runs between Stockholm Central and Arlanda Airport.

A-Train has shown continuing confidence in Euromaint and awarded the company the contract for the maintenance of Sweden's most punctual express train, the Arlanda Express, a task that Euromaint has done for the last ten years. During 2014, 3.6 million passengers travelled on the Arlanda Express and punctuality is very important to the travellers.

"We are very pleased with the confidence shown and look forward to developing both the maintenance and the maintenance method. It is important that travellers catch their flights and that we continue to deliver safe and available trains. We maintained a high level of availability of the rolling stock, 99.9 percent, in 2015, and we will be working hard to make that figure 100 percent", says Ove Bergkvist, CEO at Euromaint Rail.

The contract is a comprehensive solution and covers both preventive and corrective maintenance, component maintenance and material handling. Within the framework of the new contract Euromaint will install RVM, a system for real time monitoring, in the rolling stock. The system allows monitoring of the vehicles in traffic and the maintenance provider will have valuable information about both the rolling stock and its component systems before the rolling stock reaches the workshop. Monitoring is a complement to traditional preventive and corrective maintenance and leads to quicker, more efficient and optimised maintenance.

"We are Sweden's most punctual train operator and have been voted the public transport provider with the best customer service by Stockholmers for several years in a row. Without world-class trains that would not be possible. Therefore, after a careful procurement process and through evaluation it is satisfying to be able to sign an agreement with a proven and reliable partner within rolling stock maintenance. We look forward to more years of continued excellent collaboration and provision of high quality maintenance”, says Per Thorstenson, CEO at A-Train.

The new agreement comes into force at the beginning of next year and lasts for eight years. Maintenance takes place at the workshops in Blackvreten outside Arlanda, Stockholm
